Abdullah Akyuz
President, TUSIAD’s Washington Representative Office
Abdullah Akyuz joined the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TUSIAD) in 1999, as president of its Washington Representative Office (TUSIADUS, Inc.).
From 1983 to 1990, Mr. Akyuz served as an economist on Turkey’s Capital Markets Board. In June 1990, he was named director of the newly established Bonds and Bills Market of the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE).
In 1994, Mr. Akyuz became the executive vice-chairman of the ISE. He has also served as a Board Member of the ISE-Settlement and Custody Bank, Inc., as well as a member of the Undersecretariat of Treasury’s “Domestic Borrowing Advisory Board.”
Mr. Akyuz holds a B.A. degree in economics and finance from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Ankara and an M.A. degree in economics from the University of California-Davis. He is a graduate of Wharton School’s Advanced Management Program.
