Megan Burke is an independent consultant based in Nicaragua. Previously, she was a Program Officer in the Governance and Civil Society unit at the Ford Foundation, responsible for Foundation funding on U.S. Foreign and Security Policy.
Prior to joining Ford, she was the Program Manager for Humanitarian Campaigns, a program of the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA). It seeks to involve the American public in action oriented projects to eliminate the humanitarian impact of landmines in several post-conflict countries.
Ms. Burke has also worked as an associated researcher for the Fundación Para las Relaciones Internacionales y El Diálogo Exterior in Spain where she published working papers on the role of international assistance in post-conflict recovery.
Ms. Burke holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Yale University.
