Stanton nuclear security fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations
Brian K. Muzás is a Stanton nuclear security fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is also an assistant professor at Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy and International Relations, where he directs the Center for United Nations and Global Governance Studies.
His research interests include international security, human security and ethics. Muzás has participated in the U.S.-Pakistan Inter-religious Coalition since its first overseas trip in May 2012 and was ordained a Catholic priest in 2003.
While assigned to a parish, he also taught computer science and international relations at Seton Hall University and worked in the nongovernmental organization (NGO) community at the United Nations — eventually serving two terms as secretary of the NGO Executive Committee and as co-chair of numerous NGO annual conference subcommittees.
After the shameful events of the afternoon of January 6th, 2021, can we reconcile U.S. exceptionalism with the disgraceful invasion of the U.S. Capitol? The short answer is no.
