Brendan Buzzard

Writer and ecologist

Brendan Buzzard is a writer and an ecologist. His writing merges literary reportage with personal narrative to explore the link between international understanding, human well-being and ecological integrity.

Some of the subjects he has pursued include community reconciliation in post-conflict Kosovo, land tension in East Africa and political violence in Zimbabwe. In 2005, he edited A Zimbabwean Street Story, a book about street life in Zimbabwe written in partnership with a group of children living on the streets of Harare.

As an ecologist, he has worked on ecological and community land management issues in places like Kenya, Mozambique and the Brazilian Amazon.

He has a degree in Geography and Environment from Prescott College.
