Donald Steinberg serves as the Deputy Administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Previously he served in the International Crisis Group’s Belgium office — and as Special Assistant for African Affairs to President Clinton and U.S. Ambassador to Angola.
Mr. Steinberg holds a Master's degree in journalism from Columbia University — and a Master's degree in political economy from the University of Toronto.
He has written extensively on issues relating to Africa, women in conflict, transitional justice, post-conflict reconstruction, landmines, as well as refugees and internally displaced persons.
