Associate Professor of Political Science at Tufts University

Michael Beckley is Associate Professor of Political Science at Tufts University and the author of “Unrivaled: Why America Will Remain the World’s Sole Superpower.”

He is also a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, Asia Director at the Foreign Policy Research Institute and a Moynihan Public Scholar at the City College of New York.

His research on great power competition has received multiple awards from the American Political Science Association and the International Studies Association and appeared in numerous national and international media.

Previously, Michael was an International Security Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and worked for the U.S. Department of Defense, the RAND Corporation, as well as the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

He continues to advise offices within the U.S. intelligence community and the U.S. Department of Defense.
