Former head of the Warsaw office of the Heinrich Böll Foundation
Wolfgang Templin headed the Warsaw office of the Heinrich Böll Foundation until 2014.
He was born in 1948 and grew up in the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
In 1985, he co-founded the “Initiative for Peace and Human Rights” (IFM) in the GDR. He was expelled to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1988.
After the Berlin wall came down, he went back to East Germany, took part in the “Central Round Table” and was co-founder of “Alliance ‘90”, which later merged with West Germany’s Green Party.
